Members Appreciation Day
Each year, only on Members Appreciation Day, the Eames Foundation invites its members to experience a very special opportunity: to enter the Eames House on an interior guided tour.
This is your chance to experience the House as a guest, and to enjoy a bountiful lunch, the interior tour of the Eames House, and a wide array of activities. In 2010, guests made their own Bingo cards using photos from the Eameses' classic film Powers of Ten, and then vied for one of the first-hot-off-the-press Eames House Blocks (thanks to the magic of House Industries) in a cutthroat game of Bingo. In 2009, as a surprise timed-competition, attendees solved a rebus sent by Charles to daughter Lucia (then age seven), with one guest ultimately winning a pink molded plastic elephant. Last year, volunteer John Kishell displayed some of his collected catalogues and samples of materials used in the Eames House for visitors to enjoy. Other Eames Foundation volunteers gave interior tours of the House and Studio ground floors, while Lucia and several of her children and grandchildren mingled with guests as a delicious lunch was enjoyed.
Join the Foundation's annual party as it thanks its membership for their support of the Eames House. Every year, Members Appreciation Day falls within a week or so of June 20th, Charles and Ray's anniversary. This year's celebration is on Saturday, June 18th. We hope to see you there!
