Eames House

Once a year, around Charles and Ray’s anniversary, Members of the Eames Foundation are invited into the Eames House for Members Appreciation Day. However, if you wish a more personal private tour, there will be other opportunities to explore the Eames House beginning January 1, 2011.

Members Appreciation Day:
Join us in celebrating the spirit of Charles and Ray when the ground floor of the Eames House is opened for an afternoon tour. Each year, a Saturday near the time of Charles and Ray’s June 20th anniversary is selected for Members Appreciation Day. This once-a-year event—for Members only—is hosted by the Eames family. Membership and reservations are required one week prior to the day of the event. Click here for more information about Members Appreciation Day.

Group Tour. Included in price of membership.

Information regarding Interior House tours, overnight stays in the studio, picnics and/or weddings in the meadow is not yet available. Guidelines will be posted here on the Foundation website when the information is available.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Wedding—or Party—in the Eames House Meadow:

The opportunity to hold their wedding and reception (with up to 50 participants) in the meadow of the Eames House, with the couple’s use of the Eames Studio for dressing. Set on top of a bluff overlooking the ocean, the meadow is a magical expanse edged by California native flora.
Over the years, Charles and Ray hosted a few weddings of special friends and family at the meadow. We are continuing that tradition for a few lucky couples, those who will delight in and respect the Eameses’ interface of House and nature. (No wedding need be involved: a festive party for 50 is fine as well.)

Limited to 50 participants. Location only, excludes porta-potties, parking valets, etc. Actual date subject to availability. Note that the meadow will have a different look depending upon the season, from the lush green of the rainy season to the dry browns of the late summer.

Eames Studio Overnight:
Available after December 31, 2010; please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for pricing. Spend a once-in-a-lifetime night in the Studio at the Eames House, where daughter Lucia and her children stayed when they came on visits. Be welcomed by one of Charles’ grandchildren to the House, and enjoy a champagne toast and stories. Wake up the next morning to its magical intimacy, surrounded by the delicate shadowing of trees and the sweet sound of birdsong. Then have breakfast on the back patio, a favorite ritual of Charles and Ray’s. And feel free to browse the Eameses’ films, including rarely screened ones, plus view interviews with colleagues. Be among the first to take advantage of the opportunity to stay in the Eames Studio overnight!

Limited to two adults. California King bed, no interior photos, specific night subject to availability.
