EAMES FOUNDATION FUNDRAISER
Auction Process and Procedures

• View Auction Items Here

Eames Fundraiser Silent Auction is a traditional silent auction, with a couple unique aspects incorporated to involve the wider Eames Foundation community.  This description is an overview.  If you email us at auction@eamesfoundation.org, we will send more complete guidelines.

The Eames Foundation will do its best to follow these rules and guidelines but all are subject to change.

The auction will begin at 11:30 AM Saturday June 20 in Los Angeles, California and end at 5:30 PM June 21 in Petaluma, California.

Bidding will be allowed in person and by email, under the conditions indicated below.

People who attend the auction conclusion in Petaluma have a small advantage because of the ability of observing the bidding closely.  However, off-site bidders will be allowed to submit sealed bids in the last hour, so they have a fair shot at prevailing.

For a complete set of rules, you will need to register to bid.  You need to do this by emailing your full name and address to auction@eamesfoundation.org.  At that time you will receive a Bidding Number.  Attendees of either Member Appreciation Day or the Petaluma fundraiser can register in person and receive a Bidding Number.

We also strongly recommend that you follow the bidding on Twitter: follow user name Kcym through out that weekend.

Saturday June 20

Bidding begins at 11:30 on Member Appreciation Day

Bid sheets will be at the Eames House at 203 Chautauqua Blvd.

Every 2 hours the Bid status of each item will be Twittered.  It will also be posted online (URL for that will go up on Wednesday).

If you are at Members Appreciation Day, you write down your bid on the bid sheet.  If you are off-site, you will email your bids to auction@eamesfoundation.org.  You MUST have the item name AND your bid number in the subject header.  As they are received, high bids will be written on the Bid Sheet

By 5:00 PM the bidding will be suspended at 203 Chautauqua while we move the bid sheets to northern California.  Offsite bids can continue to be submitted by email overnight

Sunday June 21

The Bid Sheets will now be in Petaluma.

In the late morning, we will post and twitter the bid status of each item.

At 1 PM the Fundraiser begins.  Only registered attendees of the Fundraiser will be able to bid in person, but off-site bids of course remain welcome by email.

At 4:30 Off-site bids will no longer be updated on the Bid Sheet.  Live bidding will continue until 5:30.

ANY EMAIL BID RECEIVED AFTER 4:30 PM June 21, 2009 AND BEFORE 5:30 PM June 21, 2009 WILL BE CONSIDERED A SEALED BID.

At 5:30 PM the auction will be over.  It will take a few minutes to be sure all bids are in order.  Then the sealed bids will be brought to the Bidding table in Petaluma and opened at approximately 5:45

Winning bidders must be prepared to pay by Paypal or check by 5 PM Tuesday June 23, 2009.

Auction Prices do not include shipping.
